Titanic Centenary

2012 marks the 100 year anniversary of the RMS Titanic.

The Titanic was a passenger liner that struck an iceberg in the north Atlantic Ocean on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City, United States, and sank on 15th April 1912, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peaceful maritime disasters in history.

To commemorate the centenary, Key Stage 2 will be working on a Titanic Project and as part of your Talk Homework we would like you to find out any interesting facts about the Titanic and the tale of human tragedy that surrounds her.

We look forward to hearing your findings from your research.

Find out as much as you can!!

  1. The Titanic hit a huge ice berg when the Titanic was loaded there were about 2.5000 people and it hit the ice berg in the middle of NORTH ATLNTIC:)

  2. It has been 100 years since the tragedy of the Titanic. It was at the time the largest ship in the world. It hit an ice-berg at 11.40pm, 14th of April, 1912.The Titanic was said to be unsinkable but was proven wrong. At 2.20, 15 April, 2012 the Titanic sank. There were only enough lifeboats for 300 people and 1517 died. Many reasons were put forward as to why the Titanic sank. One of them was a design problem. A nearby ship could have saved a lot of people but they turned their radio off because they thought the Titanic distress rockets were the ship having a party.
